In this talk I will given an introduction to the central region of our Milky Way, where all is governed by the super massive black hole Sgr A*. I will present the different constituents of the Galactic Center that are observable in the near infrared, ranging from Sgr A* it self, ionized gas clouds swirling around it, the densest known star cluster, as well as a peculiar population of very recently formed stars.
