AstroMcGill

AstroMcGill was founded in 2012 by an enthusiastic group of undergraduate students, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. From 2012 until 2022, AstroMcGill served as the public outreach arm of the McGill Space Institute and the Astrophysics group of the McGill Physics Department. As of Jan. 2023, AstroMcGill's outreach activities now operates under the banner of TSI Outreach. 

Although AstroMcGill receives support from McGill faculty advisors and staff members (including the Lorne Trottier Chair in Astrophysics and Cosmology and the Department of Physics), it is a student-led, volunteer organization. The majority of AstroMcGill volunteers are senior undergraduate or graduate students studying physics, astrophysics or a related field. Volunteers have the opportunity to practice communicating science to the public, teaching valuable EPO skills.
